Experience Transcendence: Kirtan Retreats by the Ganga
Dear friends,
Following our retreat last year, many of you have written asking when our next retreat takes place. You want to be part. To some of you I replied, next year, 2026.
However, my schedule is overwhelmingly packed. Thus, I am inviting you to 2 Kirtan retreats in Rishikesh. You can either attend one or both and they are free.
You only need to get there and find your own lodging. The kirtans including a dinner prasadam are free.
Rishikesh is full of holy places. Sitting by the Ganga inspires faith, enlightens the mind and elevates the consciousness.
Come join us. Experience genuine transcendence.
The only price is your sincere willingness.
The Dates
February 13/2026 – March 25/2026:
Kirtan fest led by Indradyumna Swami.
That’s 6 weeks of daily, focused evening kirtans. Different renown Kirtaniyas will be leading. Besides, in the morning you can be part of some workshop or Japa meditation.
October 14/2026 – October 18/2026:
Kirtan Mela led by Sacinandana Swami.
It’s a 5-day festival at MVT Rishikesh. The kirtans are meditative and deep. Some mornings we practice Japa on the banks of the Ganga.
Rishikesh
Rishikesh nestles among the foothills of the Himalayas. Sacred Ganga, dividing it in two, lends her banks to saintly ascetics living austerely for spiritual upliftment. Besides, the lush, misty hills dropping at her edge inspire tranquility of the mind while the body relaxes. In some places, the sound of her rapids evokes deep meditation. The air is pure and rich in goodness. Yoga of the body and spirit comes easy. Language of the Soul is spoken here.
Kirtan venue is set amidst the serene Himalayan foothills, offering a peaceful and inspiring environment. Surrounded by nature, the venue provides modern spaces for cultural and kirtan activities. You will be served delicious, sanctified vegetarian food.
Getting There
To reach Rishikesh from Delhi, you can travel by road, train, or air. The most popular option is taking a bus or taxi via NH 334, which takes around 5–6 hours depending on traffic. Trains run to Haridwar, about 25 km away, then you can continue by bus or auto-rickshaw. The nearest airport is Dehradun’s Jolly Grant Airport, offering short flights and quick transfers.
For a safe, untroubled trip, you may wish to consider recommended inoculations, although most travellers to the East and Far East choose not to pursue them. It’s wise to bring a reliable mosquito repellent to protect yourself, especially in the evenings. Nearby shops around the venue will provide basic necessities, offering convenience if you forget anything during your stay.
You are responsible only for your travel and accommodation arrangements, ensuring you have a place to stay. All kirtans are offered freely, creating a welcoming and devotional atmosphere. A delicious dinner prasadam will also be provided at no cost.
