Japa Meditation

Chanting sacred mantras on beads screens and regulates thoughts entering the mind.  It’s an eternal method that uncovers I, the Soul and connects to the Origin of Life.

Kirtan Yoga

Call and response chant of divine mantras enabling mental and sensual immersion in Spiritual Sound.  Chanters channel the mind to capture the Sacred Sound in the heart. A perceptible awareness of the Spirit awakens and pure bliss takes over, obliterating the insignificant.

Practical Bhakti yoga

Sanskrit is the language of the extensive Vedas. Through millenniums an unbroken line of masters have handed down the secrets of the origin and practice of Bhakti, Yoga, and sadhana according to authentic sanskrit texts. They reveal knowledge about the soul, mind, intelligence, senses, physical nature, Karma and God.

Vegetarian Cooking Demo

Over 2 days we offer a 90 minutes cooking demo each day, of vegan and lacto-vegetarian fares adapted from various cuisines of the world. We highlight taste, presentation and nutritionally balanced dishes using everyday ingredients.

Karatal Practice and Rhythm

Karatals, or cymbals are more than 5000 years old. They are probably one of the oldest rhythm instruments ranging from a few centimeters to a foot in diameter. For ½ hour each day, during 2 days you will learn and practice some of the simple rhythms but fast learners could progress to intricate rhythms with a variety of sounds and beats.

Accomodation

You will be lodged in the luxe Jungle Villas, which are tents, built on stilts in the green forest area of the retreat. Villas are built of pinewood and decorated in traditional Indian style. Each Villa has 2 beds with canopies for privacy, attached bathroom, writing table, wardrobe, sofa and a small patio. Couples will share the same villa. You will occupy the same space if you came with a friend. Otherwise, people of the same gender will be lodged together.

Meals

Fresh, appetizing meals are offered 3 times a day – breakfast, lunch and dinner. The dining area is open air are pleasant.  The meals are both lacto-vegetarian and vegan.

Madhava, born on the island of Mauritius, grew up amidst devotional activities. At 18 he went to Vrindavan, the land of Krishna in India, to pursue his own spiritual practices under the guidance of legendary 24-hour Kirtan director Aindra das, where he stayed for 6 years. His mentor then instructed him to always make chanting and distribution of the Sacred Mantra his life’s goal.

Radhika was born in Mauritius and has been practicing Bhakti yoga for over 35 years. She is experienced in different Bhakti arts and is a cooking instructor for delicious vegetarian fares from various cuisines. She also serves as a facilitator in workshops detailing Bhakti yoga and Sadhana Bhakti.

Husband and wife Anmol and Aarti Londhe are trained from various traditional yoga schools in India. They are proficient in multiple asana styles from classical Hatha yoga, Ashtanga yoga to non-competitive, therapeutic yoga. Highly skilled, they observe and approach each person individually. Practical asana and pranayama classes hail from Ancient Hatha yoga and Patanjali Yog Sutra texts.
